    Pay it forward with friendship.

For this craft project, I put together a care package for my long-time BFF who is completing her law degree and graduating in May. Law school isn’t an easy road, so I sent along some treats to help her through finals week. A big jar full of homemade chocolate chip cookies and a box of local tea sachets should do the trick.

When you’re far from friends who you still retain a deep friendship with, you don’t really need constant reminders of how special your friendship is, but it never hurts to sometimes show it. ;)

    Sabrina’s Surprise Package

The following story and pictures are from Sabrina! – Linzi

I have a very good friend from college who is living in the Washington DC area participating in Math for America. Since the beginning of the program she has been incredibly stressed out and miserable. There have been numerous things that have happened that were really unfortunate- flooding in her room, her car getting hit by a stolen vehicle- the list goes on.

    An Infinity Scarf for Sue

For Craft Swap VI: Pay It Forward I knitted a seafoam stitch infinity scarf for my mom! My mom, Sue Bergmann, went through a lot last year, and I admire her for being one tough cookie. I chose to make an infinity scarf because my mom loves to go on long treks in the cold woods with her many dog friends. I used 98% alpaca yarn because alpacas and llamas are her favorite farm animal – she’s talked about getting one for years. The yarn made from their wool is super soft when knitted loosely, which is why I chose the lace-like seafoam stitch.

Craft Swap VI: Pay It Forward

    Pay It Forward

Come one, come all – it’s a new year and time for another craft swap! I’m sure everyone is working hard at their resolutions, so this craft swap will be a simple but goodie. Inspired by the 2000 classic movie, Pay It Forward, for this craft swap we will be doing and documenting a good deed.

    XC Craft Swap VI

    Theme: Pay It Forward
Rules: At some point in February through the end of March, you will do a good, selfless deed for someone. You can make them something, do something with them, or do something for them. It can be someone you know or someone you haven’t met yet. All that’s required is that the person you choose is NOT involved with this craft swap, documentation of the deed, and -for a twist- this act of kindness should come as a surprise to the recipient. Even though a story is all that’s required, it would be even better if you shared pictures as well.

If you’re interested please write your name below before January 31st. The swap begins on February 1st. Please send me or post your own stories and pictures before March 31st.

    Happy Crafting!

After looking more carefully I think it was done 100% by hand.. and it is insanely impressive.

It is! I used an x-acto blade and tried my best to make a bunch of dashes in a straight line. :)
