Summer in Tahoe

The summer Tahoe crew!

Continuing our big Tahoe summer/winter trip tradition, this summer we went to celebrate Tori’s birthday! Happy Birthday Tori! We all drove up Saturday night after work and spent our first night relaxing around the cabin.

Kara found the perfect cabin for us to stay in! The people who owned it were members at a private beach and there were tons of places to eat and buy food nearby. On Saturday the boys left super early to go play golf and the girls slept in. Kara and I did a early morning walk to find a small grocery store, but instead got lost and found the private beach. We ended up back at the cabin and all of us went out for breakfast instead.

Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s for everyone!

After our delicious breakfast, we changed into our bathing suits and spent the rest of the day at the beach. Eventually the boys found us.

That night we celebrated Tori’s birthday with a GIANT banana creme pie from Tartine and played her favorite game – Euchre!

Cutting the delicious pie.

Like any great Tahoe trip, the games and drinking went into the night – much fun was had. Sunday morning, tired and hungover, the gang stumbled over to our new favorite breakfast spot. We drank coffee in the hot sun while we waited for a table to open up.

Tanning while waiting.

After 45 minutes (it’s like being in San Francisco), our table was finally ready.

Similar to Saturday, after eating breakfast we all shoved our stuffed bodies into our bathing suits and headed down to the private beach.

For a small lunch, Jeremy found this restaurant that has a beautiful patio overlooking the lake. To Kara’s delight they have Mai Tai’s and Hula Pie!

It was devoured in seconds.

Full of Hula Pie we returned to the cabin, cleaned, and (after a brief stop at a local ice cream parlor) we were on our way home. The trip was short and sweet – two perfect days in Tahoe. We all came back happy and tan. If you’d like to see more pictures from our trip, check out Chris’s flickr set and my flickr set!
